Expert Pentests

Description

Expert Pentests — shown in the portal as Expert — combine Hackian's in-depth analysis with the judgment and experience of human ethical hackers. This test type is designed for situations where maximum depth is required, or where the scope includes technologies and test types that Hackian does not currently handle on its own, such as mobile applications.

The human ethical hackers work alongside Hackian, taking the test further in areas where human intuition, creativity, and domain expertise make the difference.

When to use it

Expert Pentests are the right choice when:

• The assets under test are highly complex or business-critical and demand the deepest possible coverage.
• The scope includes areas Hackian does not yet fully support, such as mobile applications or certain specialised technologies.
• Your compliance requirements or stakeholders expect a human-led engagement.

How to launch an Expert Pentest

Because Expert Pentests involve sourcing and scheduling human ethical hackers, they require coordination with the Ethiack team before they can begin:

1. Request the test — submit a request through the portal to signal your intent and provide initial scope information.
2. Scope call — a member of the Ethiack support team will schedule a call to define the exact scope, agree on dates, and understand any specific requirements for the engagement.
3. Hacker sourcing — Ethiack sources the ethical hackers best suited for the technologies and complexity involved in your test.
4. Test execution — the test runs on the agreed dates, with Hackian and the ethical hackers working together.

Acting on results

Findings appear in the Findings section as the test progresses. Each finding shows the ethical hackers and triagers involved via the Participants panel, and the Updates feed allows your team to communicate directly with them — asking questions, sharing context, or coordinating remediation in real time.

Once the engagement is complete, a full report is available for export.
